If tomorrow never comes
So last night, the words to Garth Brooks hit comes to mind, "IF tomorrow never comes, will she know how much I loved her". First, because I was dreading the goodbyes but also because I hope New Hope Church is really aware of how much she means to me...and I'm not talking about the building! I can honestly say they have shown, given and taught me so much about love. From the first meeting, the capacity to love was evident. It must be something special about these western Kentucky FOLKS- Woodlawn loved us amazingly too! I thank you for so many precious things First, PATIENCE for a young pastor in his first pastorate. That it has lasted 8 years is normally unheard of and what has been done is nothing short of a miracle. The KINDNESS you've shown my family during the illness and loss of my mother was tremendous. You have been the bearer of so many things, believed in my husband even when he was such a newby. You kept the hope and endured rough and also wonderful times with each other, us and as a church family. I hope I will be able to pass on and exemplify the love of Jesus as you have done for me. You have been the living, breathing scripture of 1 Corinthians 13:4. I must remind you what it says on into verse 8, Love never ends.... and it will not for me once we are gone either. Thank you New Hope Church, Western Kentucky and Metropolis friends as well. So glad God gave me this gift of crossing paths with you.

Tree, Forest or Broken Google.
You know the old saying about not being able to see the trees for the forest.... Well, I took a walk the other day and noticed the trees. Oh, some were gnarly, crooked, half-dead, very interesting, but somehow all of them seemed beautiful... especially with the fall colors they are all beginning to show. It was then I felt like God said, "Hey, this just like all of you guys down there... you're messed up in some way or another, none of you are perfect, you've all had some damage, but you're all beautiful to me". OOOhhhhh. Thank you God, that made me smile--- but duh? "I know that"!!!! Recently we've started calling my son "Google", it seems whatever is said, he says "yeah, I know"... So as my boy would say...yeah, I know.... BUT... how long have a known that and still sometimes feel like a complete loser, a moron, an ugly, pathetic waste of God's time!
Well, if we get beyond my slighly broken version of Google, I know in my heart... He loves me just the way I am... He loves you too, just the way you are.

Kids say the darnest things...
Amazingly, Baylee received a "listening aware" today. She obviously goes to school and does as we prayed she had, however, we still have yet to get her to use that skill in our home. I'm thrilled she used her skills at school, and I'm praying it starts at home.
This evening, I was going out to pitch a few balls to Baylee. She carries her bat over her shoulders with her arms hanging over the top and says, "Look, I'm dying on the cross". Oh sweetheart... Somebody's already done that so please don't start trying to save yourself by doing it again... It just ain't gonna work!!!
Lastly, Jeff and Hunter go to the new Hucks in town! They were so excited and got an icee. Hunter checks the place out and says... "Daddy, you could live here!!! They've got gas, drinks, pizza, food and bathrooms!" How we can be so pleased with the simple, bare necessities... Although these are not the things that fill and satisfy our souls... it's good he sees this is all that must be supplied and not have to have excess.
My sinus cavities have just opened up after killing me... nose is freezing... does that make me a "cold-noser?"

As I sit
Wow.. we've been sitting here for quite awhile waiting to see what's going on with my father as he has just had surgery... what's going on...we're numb on the backside and in the brain from the waiting and wondering. When will he wake up? When can he go home? What's next? My role has changed with my father and it's no longer me listening to my daddy, but me having to politely suggest what we do. Yes, mostly walking on pins and needles hoping not to offend or damage his pride, but knowing if I don't do something it's he that will continue to suffer. Ok, so the reason why we're even here is my "ever so intelligent and wonderful husband" said insteading of sitting and worrying why don't you do something? Well, we've done something but now we're back to sitting... and so the beat goes on as I sit.

NO WORRIES!!!
My husband's blog post... yeah, well he's a loser... well, actually, I am not worried--- just amazed at the craziness around me without being totally destroyed. I kind of feel like a far removed cousin to Job. It's ok...so far I'm good, holding together by a thread, but it's pretty good thread.

The Sacred Journey...
Hello there...
Been struggling to read a book called "The Sacred Journey" for months!!! Recently, I personally have been feeling like I needed to take a few new steps to exercise my faith. How ironic that the same time my husband embarked upon a trip to Colombia, South America was the time God said "go time!" for the exercise. This is not what I had planned!!!
Last time my husband went on a mission trip my son collapsed on a field trip and earned a trip to the emergency room. This week, my father's health declined and the journey we took was also the emergency room, that has earned him at least a 3 night stay in the Doctor's Inn. As I have been trying to let God know I wanted to know him and trust him more, nowhere was it ever in my mind that my journey would just be to my local medical complex where I would meet tons of wonderful folks who have been encouraging my father back to good health. My exercise I believe this far is to rely upon God for my strength, keep my cool with my children without assistance from their dad (since he's out of the country) and encourage my dad to get well soon!
The Sacred Journey by Charles Foster is a discovery of the pilgrimage we take on the path of life. We can either choose to take the adventure and live it out partially or fully or we can sit back to lack of organization or too much caution. Truthfully, I felt like the book was difficult to read and skipped around with its tales, locations, and lessons. I do believe it gave many wonderful citings about the journey Jesus took as a human and how he called people to follow him. The writer stresses walking and travel are a necessity and that God has a bent towards nomads. One point I found very philosophical but true is that arrival is less important than the journey. Along the way, you will find important lessons that are learned, and during said journey parts of you will be changed, as well as things lost, physically and emotionally as well as things won. The author continually reiterates that we my physically walk, move, depart, leave and go. Personally, I don't think a sacred journey has to be about that. I truly believe a sacred journey that our Lord requires of us is to get beyond ourselves and see to those about us--- like he did!
I received this book free from the publisher through the book review program for bloggers by Booksneeze.com . I was not required to write a positive review of this book. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission requirements of 16 CFR, part 255.
Because my own life and the ones around me I feel are a part of a scared journey not a walk that physically has to be manuevered but must be lived out in our daily stayings and goings, I found it odd that I finally was able to finish this on the lack of a walk I'm having as we sit in the hospital!

Things that make you go... hummmm
Well, my kids and I have now watched "Bibleman: Combating the Commandant of Confusion" twice. This complimentary video was sent to me by the Tommy Nelson company. The DVD reminds us to "put on the full armor of God so that you can flight against the devil's evil tricks" Ephesians 6:11
The Bible Adventure Training Center has been invaded by two characters, Confusion (who talks in a way that will confuse) and Chaos, who is what his name implies. The team has to help each other overcome this confusion the two have caused. The story was interesting sometimes the twist and turns were a bit confusing. The language of the character Confusion often was confusing but chaos tried very hard to explain it along the way. While it was a LIVE recording, it still left me with a little longing... not sad or dissappointed, just not pumped up/excited like Bibleman once did- kind of "hummm". It could have been the change in the team as Willie Aims is no longer Bibleman and his sidekick is not the same guy I think either. :(
The story appeals to ages 6-10 but my little girl age 3 was captivated and excited about it too. This is a great alternative to Superheroes are little ones love and they hear the Word of God at the same time! There is an opening music video that helps you get to know the team to come.

Picture RUN DMC... "Shut Up! You talk too much!!!"
Once again, it's my daughter... The girl never stops talking!!! I can't believe a person can talk this much!!! Yes, she's 3.... but please! Isn't there a break time for us... doesn't she need oxygen.
Then again, there's my 6 year old boy... he's beautiful too, but oh soooo loud with his STar Wars sounds and other weird noises. It's amazing out of two small bodies can come sooo much noise!

Turn, Turn, Turn

To everything there is a season under heaven... ecclesiates or however you spell it! Yep, this season has been cold, dark, wet, heavy, uncomfortable, and long.... and that's just my personal life. So ready for a new season to come along. Love the snowy days though! Loved building the birdhouses and car and jet with the kids today. Loved being home in my pajamas all day. Love seeing the Olympics. Loved laughing with my kids. Love so many things, maybe this season isn't all bad!

Man, you gotta hate that. I'm reading Beth Moore's newest book and it's awesome! Any woman, any woman, any woman... needs to read this book! It's great! Tomorrow can I just read all day??? Oh yeah, I'll be grumpy smurf tomorrow or sleepy dwarf! Darn adulthood!!!

Summertime,Summertime,Sum, Sum,Summertime
Wow!... This summer has flown by... I love summer. I love freedom. I love being able to have fun!!!!
I am such a kid. We had a great day today. Alyssa, Hunter, Baylee and I went to the library, Dairy Queen, Noble Park, Alyssa's house swimming and then back to our house for movies!!! Wow!!! That's a lot in one day!
On the other hand, there's my parents at home struggling with my mom's brain cancer. Tomorrow we're heading up there for the rest of the week. I hope to give my dad a break and my mom some encouragement.
Baylee and Hunter seem to do that for her. They do anybody really. I have great kids. The little one's a little difficult but overall a blessing.

Come on Baby, Let the good times roll!
Good day... Good day! We had a really good day at church today and it's time to kick off Women's ministry--- I'm so excited & nervous about starting this adventure. I want this to not be about me or Deena but a great thing for all our ladies. I hope that we can draw others in with this ministry.
Ate at the Wingstop... a feel good place... man I can't wait for summer now!
Well... almost time for evening church so I better get all the diapers changed and snacks passed out.

Monday, Monday
Monday, Monday---
It doesn't sound like such a glum day anymore.
We are now creating a Family Fun Day with our family to make the hum drum--- so fun!!!
We've just returned from a weekend to remember conference. What a great weekend and an experience to take home and change our family!
I am so excited about lies ahead. I"m excited how when we give God glory, we are renewed and revived as well.

Hard Day's Night
Seems like each day has it's hard part anymore and then the night often does too. Life's been showing it's ugly side a lot lately and I just can't believe the curves it's been throwing. Mom's battle with cancer. Her friend passing away. Cheryl's infection and diabetes scare. My friends' job was taken away with a lame excuse. Baylee's still not sleeping all night. These are just a few of the precious moments that have been going on. It's been a hard day and night lately.

I can't get no satisfaction
My husband thinks that I am the one that's never satisfied... when in reality it's really him!!!
He is never satisfied with his amount of toys, guns, time to hunt or boots/shoes. " I don't know how to love him" might also be a good title.

WE are so Blessed
I think I can start each blog with a song title.
Total I just want to say how blessed I am with two beautiful and sweet children. I thank God for this blessing. It's amazing.
I am overwhelmed and exhausted most of the time... but always amazed at the blessing these two little ones are.
Lord help me to be a better mommy to them.
